Professional educator collaborative

Purpose

The Professional Educator Collaborative will make recommendations on how to strengthen and improve state policies, programs, and pathways that lead to highly effective educators at each level of the public school system. The group’s scope includes educator recruitment, preparation, certification, evaluation, professional learning and development, and leadership; as well as systems monitoring.

The group will consider what barriers and deterrents hinder the recruitment and retention of educators, including those from underrepresented populations. In addition, the group will consider professional incentives and supports that could be provided at each stage of an educator’s career to produce a more effective educational system.
