This page is for programs that have already been approved. If you are interested in offering a new educator preparation program, visit our preparation program approval process page.
Change an existing program (excluding alternative routes programs)
If you are making changes to an existing educator preparation program or adding a new program option to one that has already been approved, you must submit an EPP Change Notification Form for approval. Please refer to the PESB Policy FAQ: Program Changes for more information.
Once PESB staff has received and reviewed your form, we will contact you with any questions or confirm that you may proceed with the proposed changes. Once approved, any changes or additions to the program must be included in your annual program data submissions.
If you have questions, feel free to contact Prajakta Deshmukh at prajakta.deshmukh@k12.wa.us.
Typically, changes to program design do not require Board approval. However, if the proposed change significantly deviates from the original PESB-approved program, Board approval may be necessary.
*For example: If your institution is already approved to offer a residency traditional teacher route program through a bachelor’s degree and is now considering offering the same program through a master’s degree, you must submit an EPP change notification form. If this change takes place, it must be updated in your annual data submission.
Change or add an existing alternative routes program
If you are already approved to offer an Alternative Routes to Teacher Certification program and would like to add a new program option, add or change the route number(s) you offer, or update existing program design, you must complete the Alternative Routes Change Notification Form
- This form must be completed and submitted as a Microsoft Word document to prajakta.deshmukh@k12.wa.us.
- After PESB staff have received and reviewed the form, we will reach out with questions and/or notify you if you may move forward with the proposed change(s).
- Changes to program design typically do not need Board approval; however, if the proposed change is a substantial deviation from the original PESB-approved program, Board approval may be required.
If you are not already approved to offer an alternative routes program, your institution must complete the preparation program approval process.
