The Washington State Legislature, school districts across the state, community based organizations, schools of education, and the families of Washington State have all spoken and want highly capable, diverse, and dedicated teachers to support our future. High school teacher academy courses have the potential to serve as a mechanism to achieve this goal with the added bonuses of general high school achievement and college access.
In the spirit of these desired results, the stakeholders of the Recruiting Washington Teachers redesign work group have compiled recommendations designed to improve the teacher academy system.
