Alternative route to teaching certification redesign work group

Work group product

Purpose

The role of the work group is to discuss the future direction of the alternative routes to certification and provide guidance for future design strategies for alternate route programs.

Prioritized approaches

  • Increase diversity of the educator workforce
  • Increase practices that support retention programming and policy
  • Encourage deep partnerships with teacher preparation programs and districts to meet workforce needs
  • Focus on making recruitment and placement more measurable
