Credentialing for educators of the deaf

Purpose

The Professional Educator Standards Board (PESB) is convening a workgroup to review state policy regarding credentialing for educators of the deaf and hard of hearing.

The goal of this workgroup will be to formulate recommendations to the board on the following:

  • Deaf education specialty endorsement.
  • Technical review of WAC language related to CTE American Sign Language interpreter specialty area.

Between meetings, workgroup members are encouraged to communicate with their organizations in order to receive input. Find policy background information on credentialing for educators of the deaf.
