ProTeach portfolio

What is the ProTeach portfolio?

The ProTeach portfolio provides a job-embedded, professional development opportunity for teachers. The portfolio demonstrates teacher’ knowledge, skills, and impacts in the classroom. Teachers who pass the ProTeach assessment may apply for a Washington state professional certificate. Successful candidates may also receive 150 clock hours – these clock hours are eligible for salary advancement.

Is the ProTeach portfolio going away?

Yes. With the enactment of E2SHB 2341 by the Legislature in June 2016, there will be no opportunities for candidates to submit a full or partial portfolio after the June 28, 2019 submission date.

What are the policy changes?

With the enactment of E2SHB 1341 by the Legislature, the ProTeach Portfolio assessment contract with ETS will be terminated on December 31, 2019.

What are the remaining submission dates?
The remaining submission dates available are January 31, 2019 and June 28, 2019.

When will score reports be released?
Scores will be released on March 28, 2019 and August 23, 2019. Candidates will have the usual 20 calendar days to request a re-score. Re-scores are typically completed by March (for January submissions) and September (for June submissions) of the year in which the portfolio is submitted.

All candidates will have until December 31, 2019 to download their score reports. Reports will NOT be available any time after December 31, 2019.

What if I don’t achieve a passing score?
There will be no opportunities for candidates to submit a full or partial portfolio after the June 28, 2019 submission date. Any candidate not having achieved a passing score after the scoring assessment of June 28, 2019 will be unable to request a retake.
