This is funding reimbursed directly to the district and not paraeducators or providers that partner with the district. As a reminder to districts, it is a requirement for paraeducators to be paid for the training they receive.
|The 2019-21 Operating Appropriations Bill (HB 1109/SB 5153) contains an appropriation of $12,001,000 for the 2019-20 school year to offset the cost of districts providing two days of training on the Fundamental Course of Study to all paraeducators. The appropriation shall not be available for reimbursement to districts after September 1, 2020.||School districts and ESDs who hire paraeducators are to complete iGrants package 918 to file preliminary and final claims for funding to help offset costs incurred during paraeducator Fundamental Course of Study training through September 1, 2020. Final claims must be received no later than Tuesday, September 1, 2020. Claims must be submitted before September 1, 2020 in order to be reimbursed.|
