PESB
Educator Colleagues,
I’d like to formally announce The Professional Educator Standards Board has made a decision to seek new leadership for the agency. Jennifer Wallace will be moving on from her position as PESB Executive Director.
Ms. Wallace was the original Executive Director of the Board, overseeing its development and emergence as a critical agency in the advancement of education in Washington State over the last seventeen years. According to PESB Chair Luke Thomas, “The Board is deeply grateful for the advocacy the Jennifer provided for teachers throughout our state. The voice of teachers has been uniquely empowered through this self-regulating board that has grown in authority and purpose under the direction of Jennifer Wallace. We wish her the best in all future endeavors.”
For additional information, please see the full press release.
I have been appointed by the board as Acting Executive Director of the Professional Educator Standards Board. I look forward to working with our stakeholders to continue to advance the work of The Professional Educator Standards Board and the newly formed Paraeducator Board. Myself and our talented staff team looks forward to working with each of you.
The Board will continue its role as policymaker, through educator preparation oversight and licensure for educators. PESB will continue to advance educator workforce development and pursue policy and innovation that are responsive to educator shortage, continuing education and increasing the diversity of the workforce.
Thank you for your support as we transition,
Alexandra
