The Professional Educator Standards Board (PESB) is responsible for policy and oversight of Washington State's system of educator preparation, certification, continuing education, and assignment (RCW 28A.410.210).  The Board consists of twelve members appointed by the Governor, the majority of whom are practicing educators (RCW 28A.410.200). 

While the Board makes the decisions about the work to be done at their regular meetings, Board staff conduct the work. Follow the links below for more information about the what and how of that work.
