As the Recruiting Washington Teachers program has scaled up, we have heard feedback from both the 2016 RWT Redesign Group (see 2015-2016 RWT Report (PDF)) and users of the curriculum that professional development tools are needed to better access the dense curriculum. Many of the topics explored in the RWT curriculum can be difficult to facilitate without proper training and background knowledge (privilege, racism, intersectionality, educational rights).
This professional development was developed through partnership with the Center for Strengthening the Teaching Profession (CSTP), by Washington teachers for Washington teachers. The professional development is free, self-paced, and is available to any Washington teacher who is interested in participating.
