Follow Paraeducator Board rule-making using the links below and Board meeting materials. Title 179 in the Washington Administrative Code (WAC) gives the Board policy and rule-making authority for the preparation, certification, continuing education, and assignment for all certificated K-12 educators. More information is available through the Office of the Code Reviser.
Proposed Rules
Rules that have been proposed are listed below. The Code Reviser also posts proposed rule changes and hearing dates here. You may submit questions to the Board regarding proposed rule changes or testify at public hearings of the Board. All proposals are for changes to Title 179.
Expedited Rules
Expedited rule changes are those that are either required by statute change or are technical in nature and do not change the underlying policy. The Paraeducator Board infrequently uses Expedited rule changes. If there is a public comment to the state register any time during the 75 days required for Expedited change, then the rule must be filed as a full proposal and a public hearing is required. Below are changes being proposed and awaiting the 75 days before becoming permanent.
