Teacher Assessments
What's new for Teacher Assessments?
Redevelopment of the WEST-E Tests
The Washington Professional Educator Standards Board (PESB) has initiated redevelopment of the Washington Educator Skills Tests - Endorsements (WEST-E) tests that are needed for K-12 educator endorsements. Endorsements are required for the residency teaching certificate to demonstrate that teachers have the appropriate content knowledge for their teaching assignments. The new WEST-E tests will be fully aligned with state standards, including the educator endorsement competencies, the Essential Academic Learning Requirements, and the Grade Level Expectations where available. The PESB, along with
National Evaluation Systems (NES®), a business of Pearson Education,
is currently recruiting educators to assist in the development of these new tests. To volunteer or nominate someone, go to www.warecruit.nesinc.com for information and forms.
