WEST-E Extensions

On March 23, 2004 the PESB adopted WAC 181-01-003 to provide a time extension for the WEST-E/Praxis II subject knowledge test requirement for certain out-of-state teaching certification applicants. This rule will go into effect on May 1, 2004.

WAC 181-01-003 WEST-E Time Extension. Individuals applying for a Washington State residency or professional teaching certificate based on WAC 181-79A-257 and possessing at least 3 years state certified teaching experience have up to one calendar year from issuance of the temporary permit to pass the WEST-E subject knowledge test, provided they are eligible for a temporary permit under WAC 181-79A-128.
